Lets Do Business Eastbourne 2009
Last Thursday (25th June 2009) witnessed Switchplane attended their
first 'Lets Do Business' event at the Winter Gardens in Eastbourne
wit
h visitor numbers to the Switchplane stand sometimes over whelming
the staff.
Organised by “Let's do Business†in partnership with the Eastbourne and District Chamber of Commerce the event enabled over 120 exhibitors to participate in networking face to face with other like minded individuals and visitors to the exhibition which were measured in the thousands. It was a great place for businesses in Eastbourne and the surrounding area to come together and not only find out what was available but also to receive free business advice in a friendly atmosphere.
The Switchplane exhibition stand was expertly designed and planned by
Switchplane team members Evie and myself. Evie and I spent several
weeks considering the various options that were available to convey
Switchplane's core business of web design, print design and internet
marketing. The result of this careful planning and designing was an
effective display that brought visitors in to discuss how Switchplane
could benefit their business.
On the day I started with Evie at 8:30am, with Joel and Rhys joining later in the day to provide invaluable cover as it was certainly non stop throughout the day. Whilst it is difficult to gauge the true effectiveness of some of these trade shows, the number of people who arranged meetings and call backs for this week indicates that the trade show was a success. It is now Monday and I'm still following up on the calls to provide people with the further information they requested! We also had comments from some of our competitors, other Eastbourne Web Designers, complementing us on our show case of work. If we are impressing the competition then our web design and print design are obviously on the right track.
It was also good to see some of our Eastbourne clients who we have undertaken work for attend the show in order to promote their business and the expression on their faces when some of their work appeared on our show reel.
The day finished at about 4:30 and it was such an enjoyable experience that I'm already looking forward to Let's Do Business 2010!
