Creating a Content Category

In order to create a content category, you must have the content management permission. Your website's head administrator can assign you this permission if you don't have it.

How to create a content category

Step 1: Login to your account and go to the Administration Home Page.

Step 2: Select "Add Content Category" from the menu.

Step 3: Complete the form and press continue to add the content category.

Content Category Properties

Name - a human readable name for the content category e.g. "help". The name of the content category is shown in the site map, page title and page breadcrumbs.

Folder - the name of the folder on the website, specifies the URL of the content category. For example, entering "info" for the folder will create a content category at www.yourdomain.com/info/. Spaces and punctuation are not allowed to be used in folder names.

Permission - if you make a choice from this list, then the category will only be shown to users with that permission.

User List - if you need to restrict access to specific users, enter their user IDs in a comma separated list e.g. "1,9,17" would restrict access to users 1, 9 and 17.

Admin List - the admin list specifies the users who are allowed to edit the content category and its content pages. Enter the user IDs in a comma separated list e.g. "1,9,17" would allow users 1, 9 and 17 to manage content within the content category.
