Tutorial: Creating Your First Page of Content

This tutorial walks you through the process of creating a new content page and writing your first words using Switchplane Mark-up Language (SML).

1. Create the content category

A content category is an area of your website which holds content. To create a content category, login to your site, go to the administration section and choose "Add Content Category" from the menu.

You'll need to choose a helpful name for the content category such as "About", "Info", or "Help". You'll also need to enter a folder name - this is the name that will show up in the address bar of your browser. Once you have chosen, press continue.

2. Write the SML

SML is very similar to HTML. Use the <p> tag to write text to the page, as follows:

<p>Hello, world!</p>

Press the continue button to save the page.

3. Visit your page

When you create a content category or content page, it automatically shows up on your website's site map. Visit your site map and use it to navigate to your new page.
