What is a Product Option?

A product option allows your customers to choose from variations of the same product, for example a t-shirt may come in different colours and sizes.

When the user presses "Add to basket" on a product with options, they are taken to a page which allows them to answer the questions. Once they have selected their answers, the product is added to the shopping basket.

Types of product option

Yes / No - allows the customer to pick "yes" or "no" to a question. For example, "do you want gift-wrapping?".

Choice - allows the customer to choose from a list of possible answers. For example, "what size t-shirt would you like?".

Short answer question - allows the customer to specify a short free text answer. For example, "how many candles would you like on your cake?".

Long answer question - allows the customer to specify a long free text answer. For example, "explain why you chose this bike".

When you create "Yes / No" and "Choice" product options, you can specify the additional cost and weight of each choice, as well as a different VAT value.
