The Switchplane team has been busy over the past nine months helping Spitfire Audio (www.spitfireaudio.com) prepare for the release of Hans Zimmer Strings, an important addition to Spitfire’s product range which allows composers to create symphonic film scores without hiring an orchestra. A smooth and timely delivery of an update to the Library Manager system was crucial in allowing Spitfire Audio to deliver this groundbreaking new orchestral product.
The new Library Manager provides users with faster downloads and ensures the system is more resilient against failure. CloudFront is now being used to distribute content, which has lead to a dramatic improvement in the download speed over the previous S3 system. Additionally, the amount of disk space required for installing a product has been reduced and the installation process is significantly quicker.

The Library Manager release was a joint effort across both organisations. Switchplane’s dev team focused primarily on the back-end web and app functionality, whilst Spitfire’s internal team worked on implementing the rather beautiful user interface.
In addition to the clear benefits for users, the Library Manager update places this ecommerce site in good stead for future developments from a technical point of view. Here's to another five years' successful partnership between Switchplane and Spitfire Audio!
